this model appears to have replaced the DG-350 beginning in 1986. We're not certain whether the DG-351 is truly a separate model distinct from the DG-350 or simply a typographical error in a catalog. The DG-350 is listed in the 1986 Ibanez Electric Guitars and Basses catalog and the 1986 Ibanez Profile April issue while the DG-351 is listed in the 1986 Ibanez Profile Flex Appeal issue.
Both models do not appear in the same catalog even though they both appear in different catalogs for the same year. The only substantive difference we can identify between these two models is the addition of the Back Stop spring system to the DG-351 so, perhaps, this is the reason for the new model designation.
